What? How exactly is a lack of awareness on the existence of exploitation revealed by this thread? I hate to say it but Alfred's post seems more like the post of a troll than any sort of thoughtful comment or question. Not my idea of 'good work'. What the hell does placenta have to do with anything? That's not a criticism it's just nasty nonsense.

It is also very difficult to avoid buying clothing made in such conditions. Aren't you more likely to be buying sweatshop made clothes shopping at Wal-Mart than you are when buying an expensive tailor made Italian suit? Even if you had a tailor make all your clothes that is no guarantee that the cloth itself wasn't fabricated in horrible conditions.

While the thought of high end clothing may offend you Chuck, as a signifier it offends me but as clothing it does not, but Alfred's post is garbage.
