I'm still amazed, and amused, by the fact that several people  
complained about the list moratorium on discussing Iranian domestic  
politics, yet not a word has been uttered on the topic in the weeks  
since the ban was lifted. I guess it was just something to kvetch  
about, and people do love to kvetch.

In any case, Aijaz Ahmad has a piece in the 2008 Socialist Register  
on "Islam, Islamisms, and the West" at:

Perhaps that might stimulate some interesting discussion.
