This is sort of funny, but it's true; however, you say it like that's a bad thing. Isn't it a honest thinker's job at times to show that "things are more complicated than that"? -- I've said for decades that philosophy shows us how confused we are about the deepest questions, but at a very deep level of confusion. You want sound bites, there are marketers, PR people (like you, Carl!), and propagandists who perform that genuinely invaluable role.
