Hey, did you realize that the Sewing Rebellion is back at Mess Hall?

1:00 pm -- 5:00 pm
Sewing Rebellion
The Sewing Rebellion is a cultural revolution where participants are invited to emancipate themselves from the global garment industry by learning the skills to produce your own garments. Frau Fiber (artist, activist and former textile worker) hosts free weekly workshops where she shares her knowledge of the garment industry, pattern making, and sewing to encourage the reuse, renovation and recycling of existing garments and textiles into the creation of unique garments tailored to a variety of individual tastes and body shapes.
Emancipate yourself by learning trade secrets of the garment industry!
Special demonstrations at 2 pm each session involving basic garment construction and specific techniques.
Mess Hall has sewing machines, some patterns, fabric, and odds and ends. Please bring your ideas, your energy, and any sewing-related materials, projects, or excess clothing and/or fabric you may have to share.
Frau Fiber is also seeking participants for the Synchronized Sewing Manufacturing Squad. For more information about this or the Sewing Rebellion, please contact her directly at FrauFiber at gmail.com.
