BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese military delegation on Monday left Beijing for Australia for a defense strategic consultation, said the Ministry of National Defense.

The delegation, headed by Xu Qiliang, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), will attend the 10th defense strategic consultation with the Australia military.

The delegation also includes PLA officers from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Defense Ministry.

"China values the military ties with Benin and would like to lift the relationship to a new high," Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan told the visiting Chief of Staff of Beninese Armed Forces Mathieu Boni.

China to step up military exchanges with Sweden

BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to strengthen military exchanges and cooperation with Sweden, said Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan Tuesday.
