D’Souza reveals that the war on terror is not, as many have claimed, being waged by Christian conservatives. Of course, I haven't read THE ENEMY AT HOME and I'm pretty sure an aversion to migraines will keep it off my must-read list for, well, an eternity I reckon.
So I can't be 100 percent sure the press release accurately describes the book. Still, if D’Souza's previous work provides any guide, it's a good bet the release's hyperventilating language isn't too far from the mark.
Now when you're confronted by this sort of thing -- which sports a mad-as-a-hatter casual chain as its centerpiece -- you can throw up your hands and call the author a steaming pile of dog shit (which you are Mr. D’Souza...yes, you most certainly are) and leave it at that or you can try to walk through the logic, such as it is, to see where it takes you - as a kind of mental exercise.
According to the press release D’Souza argues that liberals -- with their endless complaints about U.S. foreign policy and perverse love of decadent culture (perhaps D’Souza has the much talked about jpegs of Britney Spears' vajayjay peaking out from beneath her mini in mind here, among other things) have sock puppeted Muslims into hating America as much as they do and offended delicate Arab sensibilities.
As offended sensibilities go, these are truly off the scale since they apparently inspired people to sacrifice themselves in suicide assaults on the WTC and Pentagon.
Thus are degenerate, complaint-obsessed liberals responsible for 9/11.
To prevent terrorism, all conservatives have to do is routinely denounce liberals and tirelessly work to un-do the past 60 years or so of social change.
Once Americans are back in high button collars and long skirts and children know their place, the fellows planting bombs will pause, reconsider and decide to enjoy a delicious cup of sweet tea instead.
The moment everything turned around for a beleaguered America will be dramatized by Spielberg: a square jawed Arab man looks with steel-eyed determination at the cell phone he'll use to remotely detonate a bomb. Suddenly, the wind blows a newspaper in front of him (or, alternatively, an SMS from Yahoo! News flickers on the cell phone's display). AMERICA RETURNS TO TRADITIONAL VALUES the headline reads accompanied by a picture of a former pr0n star turned nun, dedicating a statue in honor of chastity and pro-American smiling on the White House lawn.
The Arab man looks heavenward and enters the code to deactivate the bomb.
Simple as that.
What an incredible ass D’Souza is.
