[lbo-talk] Planning behind non-democratic parts of US govt's structure?

Hi,

Does anyone know a resource on how parts of the US gov't were intentionally structured in a non-democratic way by the constitutional framers? (So for example, it might explain why they believed that the Senate would turn out to be more accountable to wealthy property owners than to the people.)

I remember someone, perhaps Doug, mentioned a book on this topic a ways back, but I can't find it. Maybe it's best to go through the constitutional debates, but it seems like a pretty big job.

Thanks, Tayssir
