I've always thought the Guardian should call this somnolent section "Comment 
Is Content-free."  I checked Francisco Rodríguez's c.v. at the Wesleyan 
website and learned that his background features:  "Ph.D. in Economics, 
Harvard University (June 1998), M. A. in Economics, Harvard University 
(March 1996)"

Prof Rodríguez's brain has obviously been washed, spun and dried to meet the 
most exacting specs of capitalist orthodoxy.
