Maybe it's just refering to the fact that the Judeo-Christian (Islamic?) deity's name is not "God." It is Yahweh.
I've heard that "Jehovah" actually derives from a mistransliteration back in the 1600s or so -- they got the consonants right but messed up the vowels.
