cabins for every two compartments - a feature that
regrettably seems absent
from the current arrangement, given a six day journey.

the end of the car is still there.

The woman in the compartment, it turns out, is a
friend of my roommate. She is as advertised a
32-year-old Swiss designer.

I've never taken the TSR (never been east of Kazan),
but havd taken the train to Kazan, Rostov-on-Don
(twice), and several times to Nazistoogeistan, excuse
me, the Baltic States. ;) When you took it, did they
have the lady going through the wagons selling
newspapers and drinks?

I love Russian trains.
