American singer Denise Mininfield will be back for her second tour to Vietnam from January 24-31, according to the US Embassy in Vietnam.
Denise will perform with the Red River Jazz Band in the northern port city of Hai Phong on January 29, and in Hanoi on January 31.
Before traveling to the two northern cities, Denise will rejoin Vietnamese saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, with whom she performed in 2004, and other top Vietnamese jazz musicians on January 24 at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House. She will continue on to the central city of Da Nang on January 27.
Denise will also conduct workshops on stage performance experience and the history of jazz for students at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Da Nang College of Foreign Languages, Hanoi Conservatory of Music and Hai Phong University.
Denise Mininfield was born in Berkeley, California and has performed extensively in the US and elsewhere including Singapore, Thailand, Taipei, and Vietnam. She started playing music with her award winning high school jazz band at Berkeley High School. (VNA)
