I'm way over limit and will not try Doug's patience any more after this one today.

The Carlin joke is pretty good. But Michael is being obtuse as well as rude.

The location of the clitoris is a puzzle if you think that orgasms are 'meant" by nature to encourage us to have sex, thus babies. The clitoris may be well placed for masturbation, but that does not obviously encourage activities that typically result in making babies, i.e., fucking. And while some women do have clitoral orgasms through intercourse, the literature I am familiar with (including a lot of feminist writing) indicates that most do not.

Obviously clitoral stimulation is not the only thing that matters to whether women have orgasms, lots else does, including candlelight, music, dinner -- or, as the previous discussion revealed, for some people, whips, chains, and leather. But clitoral stimulation seems to be very important for most women's orgasm most of the time.

So, if orgasm is supposed to make people want to fuck and have babies, its a bit of puzzle why it's located so that it doesn't usually get stimulated in a way that produces female orgasm when people fuck.

It's also a bit of a puzzle why men seem to come within three to five minutes,on average, while it takes women on average twenty minutes of clitoral stimulation. Possibly this shows that the female orgasm is not evolutionarily adaptive, but that is in my view a last ditch hypothesis.
