Wall Street's favorite economist, Ed Hyman, often pastes (literally)  
headlines (literally) on the front page of his daily newsletter,  
under columns labeled "good news" and "bad news." (That's one reason  
my late friend John Liscio nicknamed him "Newsboy" in Barron's.)  
Today, bad news greatly outweighs the good. In the good column: "GM  
up on painful wage cuts."
