I've only been to the Cody's on Telegraph.

It's not really a stand on principle, but that it's hard to find any socialist/communist bookstores these days. Two years ago I walked by the Socialist Action bookstore in SF during an antiwar march, but I never visited it. One of the problems--a nice problem--with San Francisco is that there are so many bookstores to visit. This is even after the demise of so many indie bookstores.

In general, I'm up for visiting any kind of bookstore, except for Christian ones and perhaps the Waldenbooks at some dead mall.

Most of what I'm reading these days can be seen at Good Reads: http://www.goodreads.com/friend/i?i=LTM2MDcwNjIyNTY6MjY4%0A

My vice is new books. Don't care much for used books, which is ironic given that I'm currently coordinating a used bookstore. My addiction to new books got me into some financial trouble several years ago. If you gave me $2000 right now, it would hard for me to spend it on clothes instead of books.

My reading has picked up in the past year or so. It had declined over the last 10 years, mainly because of the Internet. But I'm reading more books these days. I've also been re-reading lots of anarchist books, only because I'm compiling an anthology and have to go back through books.

When I get a chance, I should write more about the expansion project for our infoshop in Kansas City. That project has been keeping me busy over the past 3 months. We're almost done with the main phase, which gives us over 1000 square feet of space, enough for a bookstore, library and much more.

It's been lots of fun taking a forgotten space and fixing it up with friends on a budget of less than $1000.
