It sounds like Jordan and Dwayne's idea is to turn the marketing machine around to make efficient vehicles the in thing.
.................
I can't speak for Jordan but that's not what I mean.
Not at all.
I'm saying that all vehicles should be federally mandated to achieve zero carbon output or as near as possible by a fixed date. This means the end of the internal combustion engine: at least as we currently understand it.
I don't care about changing people's minds; I only care about making sure the machines we use are de-carbonized.
The issue isn't cattle prodding people via taxation or sweetly seducing them through clever ads into *choosing* the right tech - the issue is de-carbonizing the technosphere so neither coercion nor seduction into so-called 'green lifestyles' is necessary.
The goal is to replace our fleet of vehicles - across the board. If this is accomplished, marketing won't matter at all from a de-carbonizing POV.
Style and size variations will remain but engine and emission outputs will be consistent.
