Yeah, they have been, but it's what's getting big time, and where it's popping up, that is so weird. The Misfits at an Exxon Mobil TigerMart.

This was an obscure underground punk band who wrote songs like "Devil's Whorehouse" and who had lyrics in songs like "Teenagers From Mars" that go: "We land in barren fields, on the Arizona plains / The insemination of little girls in the middle of wet dreams / We are the ancient mutants" etc., etc -- just weird, b-movie, sick lyrics. So obscure they were way below the PMRC's radar, even. But now that everyone seems to have really retroactively been into punk all along -- I guess? where were they then, in that case? -- it's all good now. Can I be allowed to be bugged out by it?

"Hey, clerk, fill up the Jetta on Pump 9 and I'll take that Misfits cigarette lighter, too!"
