I think acculturation is quite important. If I tried to say that I was Russian everybody around here (here, Russia, not here, LBO-talk) would laugh at me, despite my 7-year residence. Yoshie is no more Westernor a US-er than you are.

Anyway I think it is safe to assume that she has been to Asia.
