I don't know anything about the defining philosophy of "hipsterism"
(apparently "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" is required reading, inter
alia)... But where I live, Bushwick, Brooklyn, hipsters are having a
very concrete impact--driving up rents and driving the poor further
from the city. After the wave of hipsters come luxury highrise condos.
