KARACHI • A group of non-government organisations in Pakistan has threatened to launch an aggressive campaign for the protection of the rights of women in Sindh province.

A representative of the NGOs said here yesterday that the women would beat up men found occupying seats that are reserved for women on public transport.

Representatives of 19 NGOs have announced their amalgamation into one supreme body, called United for Gender Justice (UGJ).

In a joint statement, the group said that it was ready to take their protest to “another level” if their demands for a complete revival of women’s rights were not respected.
