Fall on his sword seems a bit of an exaggeration. I bet Bush pardons him on his way out. That will mean less than 2 years in a minimum security facility. Not much of a sacrifice. He'll probably get a cushy job at Haliburton when released. Why the media never seem to make much of the fact that Libby isn't the source of the leak and no one has been charged for this yet is a mystery. Certainly leaking the information is a bigger deal than lying the way Libby did. Since the jury believed Libby lied it would seem they believe Cheney would have been the source of the leak.
