Vietnamese spectators were enchanted by the fabulous shows by more than 140 artists from 23 Japanese art performance groups that took place on March 3 in a Ho Chi Minh City theatre.
The Japan Day, organised by the Japanese Traditional Culture Promotion Association in coordination with the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi and the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, aimed at promoting cultural exchanges and boosting understanding between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
The Japanese artists presented a variety of traditional culture, such as an art of flower arrangement (Ikebana) and a tea ceremony (Sado).
In-between these programmes were music and dance shows featuring Japanese cultural characteristics, namely Taiko and Wadaiko drum performance, Yosakoi team dancing, Koto harp playing, Nankintamasudare performance and Japanese folk dance. (VNA)
