Indochina Capital, a financial services and real estate development company, has become the first investment fund operating in Vietnam listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

Director of Market at the LSE Martin Graham said that Indochina Capital's listing on the LSE on March 7 is a historical day as it is Vietnam's first big company appeared at the LSE.

Vietnam is a new venue that has got the public's attention. He expressed his hope that there will be more Vietnamese companies listed on the LSE.

A number of small Vietnamese companies were previously listed at the LSE's markets but Indochina Capital is the first to be listed for those whose capitals exceed over US $500 million.

When joining the LSE, Indochina Capital will raise its capital to US $1 billion, US $600 million of which will be worth of shares and the remainder will be invested in real estate.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Trinh Duc Du said that Indochina Capital's presence on the LSE affirmed Viet Nam's economic and investment development.
