Now that he's "confessed" to masterminding practically every terrorist attack in recent memory and many more plots that never happened, he will come in handy as a witness for the prosecution of every other person being held prisoner in Guantonamo Bay. His evidence wouldn't be worth a pinch of shit it a real court, but it is good enough for the proposed kangaroo courts.

So this statement of his is not about prosecuting him, they probably have enough real evidence to prosecute him anyhow. (Although a real court might take a dim view of him being tortured for years in a secret prison, so they probably won't even bother with a prosecution.)

But there isn't any real evidence against many of the people being held at Guantonamo like that Al Jazeera cameraman, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_Al_Hajj. They need to make some up. That's apparently what this is all about. Pretty scary, but it isn't politically correct to call them Nazis... so I won't do that.
