There's also the little problem that slum conditions are inconsistent with those required for the development of the "universal individual." In one sense, this is made obvious by the "subjective" characteristics of individuals developing and living in such conditions that Zizek himself mentions. Versions of "Marxism" and "psychoanalysis" that are blind to this are versions from which the iinsightful content of Marx and psychoanalysis have been removed.
