I missed the march, but got there for the rally after. There were still about a thousand folks there, diminished from a larger crowd earlier. Largely whitey graying baby boomer peacenik types, but with noticeable smatterings of soldiers/vets and african american folks. Very low on the sect people and subcultural youths, which left me feeling oddly dissapointed.
I know the workers against the war group (mostly members of my old local of hospital workers, and the powerhouse casino workers union) in vegas had a rally today, I'll email them to ask how it went. If I was grounded in a particular city right now that I have some time again, I think I'd be trying to get involved to see if a broad coalition could bring out big numbers. We had a lot of success with this in Richmond VA where I lived when the war started. But I share Yoshie's pessimism. Opinion in this country has turned decisively against this sick war, and the left has somehow managed to paint itself into the only corner in the country isolated from that mass sentiment.
