Wage-workers of the formal sector in the advanced capitalist countries may
not be the vanguard, nor have much militant tendency, but their obtaining
revolutionary consciousness is a necessary precondition to world revolution.
We learned in the first historic efforts to build socialism that if we don't
have revolutions in the technologically, industrially and militarilly most
advanced capitalist countries, those countries can crush the revolutions in
the less advanced countries through military superiority. Imperialism
defeated socialism militarily in the "Cold" War, which really started in
1918 as a hot war. 

Therefore, we must figure out how to revolutionize the consciousnesses and
emotions of   workers in the advanced capitalist countries. Play that funky
