No, that was your email application that wrapped the text, not mine. But when I examined the original link a bit more closely I discovered that it was typed incorrectly, with a space where the line break appears above. So it ends as follows:

"[...]articles/features/dispatches/ featherstone/shotdown/"

This errant space probably caused your application to insert a line break at that spot. Of course a space in the middle of the url also renders it useless.

So it was a bug in the url, Doug's fault. ;-)

Good article though. Got to keep saying those things. Matter of fact, I had a 'flu vaccination a week or so back. First time I've bothered, but its been a bad season for extreme weather and I expect that will make the 'flu season even more dangerous. Not to mention the fact that severe frosts wiped out all the fruit on my trees this season, so I don't even have any apples to keep the doctor away. Managed to get the doc to classify me as "at risk" to qualify for a subsidised vaccination. (Damn it hurt for a week too.)

Another point about vaccines though, sometimes the initial illness that kids get is not the end of the story. People often suffer even worse illnesses in mid to late adulthood stemming from the infection they easily get over as kids. Polio is like that, but likewise measles can lead to shingles later on on life and shingles is extremely painful, much worse than measles.

Liza's article is a bit more polite when dealing with the psychopaths who refuse to accept the minute risks associated with public health immunisation programmes than I would be. They are selfish antisocial scum who ought to be completely ostracised. As for the venal parasites who spread the lies and half-truths used to justify this behaviour, they should be imprisoned. Guantonamo Bay is the place for such dangerous nutters.
