It's interesting to compare the attitudes of techies (particularly the more skilled ones) towards Microsoft and their products to those of the business side. The business types tend to look forward with excitement to new Windows versions, and think Gates is a technical genius. Thing is, he's hardly ever written anything himself as opposed to buying it. So it's like the business types think since he's so successful on the money side, that must mean the technical side is just as accomplished.

I can't imagine that they don't have a lot of technologically sharp tacks working there. It'd be interesting to see what happens to them.
