Hitchens' championing of the Iraq war is inexcusable, and he remains irredeemably a vile individual. I wish him the worst.
[WS:] I agree with your views on the war, but don't you think that his babbling about the war was inconsequential - he was not even a noteworthy hack propagandist for that war, let alone its architect (like Wolf, for example). He might be an old grumpy curmudgeon (as many of us are ;)), but vile? I do not think he is in the same league as Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Robertson, not to mention Cheney, Wolf, or Rove, etc, who truly deserve the label "vile."
