I just spoke with someone at a Homeland Security Detention Center in Southern California and got nothing. They said all they could tell me is if the person was in custody or not. At one point I was told "he will be given the ability to call you." I asked what that meant and said I didn't know if the person knew an attorney had been contacted on his behalf, so he might not even know who to call. I got nowhere. I asked if there was a legal office I could talk to and the guy said "not to my knowledge."
