Just to push my luck. It occurred to me during lunch that a lot people here might not believe you can jam up a legal system. So as proof of how that works, I'll mention illegal immigration. So many people have been criminalized by the INS system, that the system can not function. Look at the US attorneys the despicable Gonzales had fired. Not enough prosecutions of immigration cases I think was one of the problems. Or look at the quagmire in the current legislation in Congress. So on the ground they go after the `leadership'.

Well, that didn't work in the old draft days, and I doubt it works very well today---because in both cases, the system was dealing with a mass movement in which the leadership could change overnight. One down, ten down others took their places.

I also suspect since the Dept of Homeland Security is supposed to coordinate and keep track of both terrorist organizations like the Quakers, and the organizational infrastructure underground of illegal immmigration----that department of the new police state (let's hope) is probably overwhelmed and might be collasping on the inside...
