They've always coexisted pretty well, except when Islamic peoples,
lands, or nations were under overt or covert attack by Christian forces.
And even then, if you browse in medieval literature, you will find that
many Christians and Jews lived quite comfortably in Islamic territory
even while Christian invaders were ravaging Palestine.
