I am teaching two classes as a visitor at UMass-Amherst, in the Labor Studies Dept. One class is an undergrad. course titled "Globalization and Labor." It is a large class and has apparently no prerequisites. On a mid-term evaluation, a student said that since this was a 100-level course (introductory), he should get a B+ and maybe an A- just for showing up!

BTW, I have come to hate the word "globalization." What does it mean?
