Yeah. My father signed up for the AF just after Pearl Harbor. Spent the whole war in the U.S. and then on Pacific Island bases, fixing airplanes. Never got close to combat. I've always admired the way he handled it. Unlike my poor uncle, who was in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
