[My friend Tom Gogola's band is playing tomorrow night at the Mercury Lounge, Houston & Ave A, NYC, 8:30. Tom is multiply great.]

Dateline: Rock!

On October 13, 2007, Rock and Roll History will be made as Veteran Journalist and Itinerant Guitar Hero Tom Gogola brings his punk- skronk band Blown Woofer to a triumphal moment of Abject Rock Godness at the legendary Mercury Lounge in New York City!

This Saturday night show kicks off with a fearsome set from New Haven's Electric Bucket at 7:30, followed by Blown Woofer's hyper- aggressive sonic hullabaloo at 8:30. Themes of war, chaos, fear, love and presidential politics will be the lyrical subject matter du jour.

Recent Blown Woofer songs include: “Election 08” “Larry Craig Moment” “Oh Oh Oh Obama!” “U.S. Out of Iraq”

The Gig of Gigs follows Gogola's triumphal return to form on Sunday October 7 at the Cafe Nine in New Haven, where a stripped down Blown Woofer opened for Qui, David Yow of Jesus Lizard's smoking new outfit. A chaotic, roiling evening of post-punk anti-establishment hoo-haa ensued!
