Dems barely beat Bush's dismal ratings By: David Mark Oct 11, 2007 06:57 PM EST

.....snip

Analyst Charlie Cook of the Cook Political Report says the poll suggests that while approval ratings for Democrats are low, Republicans are still considered the bottom feeders in Congress.

"What this means is that Congress has low job approval ratings. Democrats are pathetic, and Republicans are even worse," Cook said. *******************

So, there seems to be a consensus amongst potential voters (the bulk in the employed class, of course) that bi-partisan polytricksters aren't reflecting government 'of the people, by the people and for the people'. Perhaps a legitimation crisis is brewing in America herself. Will a man on a white horse come to save the day? A populism based on the current ignorance of the working class might be painful.

More information like that found in the article which Doug posted from the "WSJ" and left unread and unknown by the vast majority, might help if it were spread more consistantly and constantly at the grassroots level:

The wealthiest 1% of Americans earned 21.2% of all income in 2005, according to new data from the Internal Revenue Service. That is up sharply from 19% in 2004, and surpasses the previous high of 20.8% set in 2000, at the peak of the previous bull market in stocks.

The bottom 50% earned 12.8% of all income, down from 13.4% in 2004 and a bit less than their 13% share in 2000. Wall Street Journal - October 12, 2007
