The recent news reports regarding Congressional recognition of the mass killings of Armenians by officials of the Turkish Ottoman Empire left out an important fact. While the Armenians were the most numerous victims (upwards of 1.5 million Armenian men, women, and children were murdered between 1890 and 1920), the other Christian minorities in the Ottoman Empire (chiefly Greeks and Assyrians) were also systematically slaughtered during the same period. They numbered up to one million.

In Germany, it's illegal to deny the genocide committed against the Jews. In Turkey, it's illegal to admit that genocide was committee against the Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians.
