And deservedly too, considering that all the Armenians had been run out of Azerbaijan a couple of years earlier after a couple hundred were butchered in the Sumgait pogrom and other pogroms. They actually cut up refugees from the 1989 Armenian earthquake with axes. Amazing.
A few years ago a former coworker of mine was visiting Azerbaijan, Baku I think, and the family she stayed with had kept the nameplate of the Armenian family whose home they had "appropriated" on the wall as a memento.
