Yes. Just a dreadful episode of US imperial criminality. Arar was not an immigrant or someone with a foreign passport. He was a bona fide citizen of Canada, who lived in Canada since he was 17. This was the extra-judicial kidnapping and state-sponsored torture of a Canadian citizen.

Those of you who teach university classes which cover political issues, I encourage you to download the Youtube reports on Arar (Andersen Cooper did a fine story, among others) and show them to your classes. It's one of the most effective teaching tools for explaining why human rights laws and democratic accountability matter.
