I have no knowledge to dispute those charges, Yoshie, and certainly no willingness to belittle their importance. Nonetheless, focusing on the overall topic of democratic nation-building and economic development, I think India deserves recognition for many singular achievements since gaining independence. And I certainly still stand by my concluding remark (below) that followed what I said above:
