Yeah. It was built to bust strikes and otherwise repress the 19th century working class. The 7th regiment was staffed by the upper classes, who stayed in posh hotels when they went off on maneuvers, and several of the rooms are by Tiffany. Blackstone boss Steve Schwarzman held his 60th birthday party there for 1500 of his closest friends.
