I suppose one could compare Yoshie's politics to those of, say, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, whose video beheadings were an expression of anti-imperial resistance, at least in Yoshie's mind. But that would be unfair, since I doubt that Yoshie has the political fortitude to personally saw through a captive's throat and neck. But could she defend such practices at tedious length? If anybody could, it's Yoshie. That could be the next taboo she smashes.
"Unlike Western leftists, who pontificate from afar about the 'barbarism' of beheadings, the Islamic warriors who are the real leaders of the global anti-imperial resistance understand propaganda of the deed (at one time a Western leftist concept), and are not afraid to get their hands bloodied in order to express their point. Are beheadings violent? Of course they are. But what about the violence of the Empire? Who are the real killers here? Don't ask pampered Western leftists, however. They lack the discipline of those resistors who are doing what must be done to stem imperialism on the front lines of this global struggle. Who would you rather mourn: a group of Islamic pilgrims incinerated by US bombs? Or some overweight American contractor who got what he deserved for trying to rob the people of Iraq?"
