There are too many Indians, not enough chiefs on the left, and we can't emulate any pattern until we have more leaders at the local level at more local areas. There is a huge constituency out there for left activity, but no left (no organized left) to try to reach that constituency.

There is no use of individuals recruiting when there is nothing to recruit to.

Besides, the prairie is pretty damp (ref. the slogan "a little spark can start a prairie fire") at the present time. We have to continue to labor to keep alive and at least faintly visible any local organization that exists, but otherwise I think this is a time for going back to the books, i.e. focusing on fundamental theory, rather than on recruiting and doing.
