In the first tech startup I was in, we had a lot of Indians (the eastern variety) and since they had a good bit of experience they all (I should say "we all") had to be given fancy titles. To point out that we needed to hire more people who do actual work, my pun used to be: we have too many Indians and too many chiefs. I guess not in good taste either.

I have a question (for John, I guess): recently, at my work, we set up a collaboration server (computer) and someone suggested the name "powwow" and so it was named. Is that an insensitive usage? Or is that an appropriate use of the word?
