The San Francisco Chronicle, a bastion of unhelpful
neutrality on this kind of thing, reported "thousands"
at the Saturday march and stated it occupied "several"
blocks of Market St. From past experience, I'd say
that means about 8,000. Included in the Chronicle
online photos were some from NYC, which looked a lot
more disciplined and better organized than the SF
march.
