Carrol responded: Wait a minute. Angel raises (in radically condensed form but still clearly) a major challenge to the Marxist tradition (but not necessarily to Marx himself), and you blow it off with repetition of a slogan. Angel may be wrong, but the claim should be taken seriously if it is to be responded to at all.

I was saying that the abolition of wage-labour, Capital (social relations thereof) and, by extension, classes, go hand in hand with emancipation from wage-slavery. So, a communist reconstruction of society would be accomplished by a Stateless association of free producers. See the Wobbly Preamble for a suggested outline of how that might take place. http://www.iww.org/culture/official/preamble.shtml If a proletarian democracy were found to be essential/necessary by the workers themselves, then other classes would still exist and so would the State i.e. the communist reconstruction of society would have to be delayed until other classes "withered away".

I didn't intend to "blow" Angelus off with whatever slogan you think I was using. But then, I suppose you think, you're just blowing me off as an empty sloganeer.
