While it's good PR for my admittedly affluent favorite city, that's not really true, you know. These ratings are based on average prices for foreign businesspeople who live in the Marriot. (I suspect this may be the case for London as well -- did they factor Fish and Chips places and McDonalds into the equation?)

That said, I was taking a cab to work this morning gazing out at the cityscape through the window, imagining what the place looked like 20 years ago, before the sushi bars, giant posters advertising beer and the Iggy and the Stooges concert (which is tomorrow), and coffee shop on every corner. It was hard to do.
