No doubt were they to triumph in this (actually imaginary) struggle power would reduce their level of savagery to that of the u.s. and european ruling classes, but at the present they cannot for the most part afford (or don't think they can afford) even as low a level of oppression as is exihbited in Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, and Jena. They are lesser evils only in that their power is less.
