If you are suggesting that the ruling class isn't threatened by the outcome of six criminal cases in a nowhere town in LA, I agree. That said, I think it's pretty clear the Jena 6 protests were about a lot more than what happens to six kids in a small town in Louisiana. IIRC Jesse Jackson's speech was about how Jena was a "biopsy" that reveals a more pervasive "cancer" -- so this is much bigger than one particularly ugly affair in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully the Jena protests will spark a bigger and broader movement. It looks like they might be able to -- we'll have to see.
If you are suggesting that the ruling class isn't threatened by a renewed anti-racist movement, I think you're wrong. In some ways racism isn't good for capitalism, but capitalism definitely benefits from racism -- a lot.
