Sexism, like other isms, can emerge in innumerable forms. In the case of Freud it is articulated through a vulgar materialist conception of the human mind as a systme of hydraulics with a central pump called The Unconscious.
A major topic for cultural criticism of late 20th/21st c. is to explain the obsessive clinging to defunct theories of mind of so many intellectuals.
